Lawrence Barrett born in Paterson New Jersey on April 4, 1838 and died on March 20, 1891. He was a stage actor first appearing in 1853 at Detroit as Murad in The French Spy. During the Civil War his acting carreer was put on hold as he served with distinction in as captain in Company B of the 28th Massachusetts Infantry regiment. After the War he managed the California theatre in San Francisco along with John McCullough.
