GALLANTIN

Abraham Gallatin was born on January 29, 1761 he was a Swiss-American ethnologist, linguist, politician, diplomat, Congressman, and longest serving Secretary of the Treasury. He was also a founder of New York University. On August 12, 1849, he died in New York City.
