LITTLE BALTIMORE

C?cilius Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore born August 8, 1605 died November 30, 1675 inherited the grant by Charles I of the colony of Maryland on the death of his father, the 1st Baron Baltimore in 1632. He thus became Maryland's first Proprietary Governor from 1632 to 1675, although he never visited the colony. The city of Baltimore is named after him.
