Edward Everett born April 11, 1794 and died, shortly after giving the other Gettysburg Address, on January 15, 1865) . Everett was elected from the Whig Party from Mass. to the House of Representatives and Senate He also served as President of Harvard U , US Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Britain, and Governor of Massachusetts before being appointed Secretary of State by President Fillmore to fill the vacancy from the death of Daniel Webster. In 1863 he delivered a two-hour Gettysburg Address.
